About Allison
Thank you for your interest in counseling! I am a WA State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I graduated from Gonzaga University with my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. I received my B.A. in Psychology from Eastern Washington University, with a minor in music.
Marriage and Family Therapy is a specialty, and I love working with couples of all kinds, and families of all types. I also enjoy working with individual adults and teens, and utilize a systemic-factor within individual counseling (in other words, how does your family, and other relationships affect what concerns you today?) I work a lot with LGBT clients, and polyamourous individuals and couples/groups.
As each person is unique, so should be your counseling experience. I utilize various forms of counseling styles to best suit you during our time together.
I was the recipient of the Washington Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Student Scholarship, and have presented on sexual issues at Washington Counselor's Association and Gonzaga University Colloquium. I have also served as the Family Support Specialist for troops deploying overseas. I have also co-facilitated a Postpartum Depression support group for moms and families, alike.
I am a lifelong resident of Spokane where I live with my husband of 20+ years, and our son. I was a military wife until my husband retired after 20 years of service. I am also a professional musician and play frequently around the Inland Northwest.
